Under the leadership of House Speaker John Boehner, the 112th House of Representatives has increased our federal debt by approximately $18,944 for each American household.

Is this acceptable to you?

If you are serious about change in Washington—change we were not able to achieve with the last election on November 6th—then please join us in urging Congress to fire John Boehner as Speaker of the House.

We need a leader in Washington, someone who will stand up to the radical Democrats. We also need someone who will be helpful in the next mid-term election and further down the road, when we elect Obama’s successor. John Boehner has proven he is not that leader. In fact, he has just been downright wimpy when it has come to challenging President Obama, even caving in to the demands of Obama, Reid and Pelosi…and now he is targeting fiscal conservatives who are trying to get tough on the budget!

He just removed Justin Amash and Tim Huelskamp from the House Budget Committee, and David Schweikert and Walter Jones were taken off the Financial Services Committee. Amash, Huelskamp, and Schweikert voted against Boehner’s debt ceiling hikes; Amash and Huelskamp were the only two GOP votes against Paul Ryan’s budget.

Conservatives worked hard to send Tea Party candidates to Washington so they could get to work on fixing our debt—but Boehner and other “old school” Republicans are standing in their way and outright punishing them for doing the right thing!

What a message it would send to Congress if we remove Boehner; it would put every Member on notice that we the People are actually paying attention and very much involved in the future of this country. It will tell the long-time incumbents, especially, that their name recognition and big donors ultimately don’t matter—Americans want, and need, leadership and responsibility.

If Boehner thinks it’s okay to fire somebody because they are “disloyal” or “out of line,” then let’s give him a taste of his own medicine and fire him for being disloyal to the principles of conservatism.

But, Boehner isn’t the only problem.

Harry Reid is over in the Senate bypassing his colleagues and preventing others from bringing debate and amendments to the floor.

We are sure you cannot imagine going to your job and refusing to do what you were hired to do; or even worse, preventing others from getting things done! But that is how our leadership in Washington behaves, and it is disgraceful.

Neither party is working for the good of the American people.

Senator Mitch McConnell has grown frustrated at Reid’s tactics, and released a statement: “This is the 107th time that the Democratic Majority has moved to cut off debate on a matter…this…is a prime example of the Democratic Leadership’s ‘hat trick’: bypass the committee process to write a bill behind closed doors; prevent anyone—Republican or Democrat—from representing their constituents by offering amendments; and then move to end debate on a bill. I call on my Democratic colleagues to work with us to get the Senate back to how it’s supposed to function. “

And American Majority Action President and CEO, Ned Ryun, says “Speaker Boehner has been an abysmal failure as speaker, and his latest purge is the nail in the coffin for conservatives. Boehner has never won a negation battle with the White House or Senate—and he’s been nothing short of an embarrassing spokesman for the Conservative Movement. It’s time for him to go.”

We can’t have another four years of Obama, Pelosi and Reid going crazy with spending and implementing big government, socialist programs just because no one in Congress will stand up and tell them “no.” We can’t have a non-functioning Senate. We can’t have another four years of the same destructive policies that are likely to only get worse.

Boehner seems always to be waiting for the “next” fight, and Reid won’t allow anything to get done at all.

We have a lot to hold President Obama accountable for, but ultimately we are going to need to get Congress to act on a myriad of issues that will affect us for years to come. This cannot happen with the political gridlock in Washington right now, so we urge you to call on Congress for new leadership.

It is our only hope as we enter the next four years of Obama’s presidency.
